The Viking's Den Ice Bar is an ice bar near Santa Barbara, run by Ova Asblorn. Shawn and Gus go there when they discover that Devon Tileback, whose suicide is a mystery, was a regular there. This especially stands out because Devon was the CEO of a company and would hardly have enough free time to bother visiting a bar that's so far away. Once inside, the duo find out from bartender Alina that Devon had dark secrets which were being exposed and that he owed the bar a lot of money, which is another oddity considering Devon was quite wealthy.
When Gus accidentally invokes the wrath of Ova's son Per and the duo need to flee, they encounter a very much alive Devon nearby. He begs them to stop investigating his alleged death, but is then killed by a hidden shooter.
As Shawn and Gus investigate the bar's connection with Devon's death, they also discover a connection between the bar and the Herschel House recovery home, where Lassiter is a patient. In the home's equine therapy stables, they find two bags full of bloody bandages, one of which also contains bloody earmuffs. This corresponds with Lassiter's earlier sighting of a wounded figure stumbling into the stables, and the earmuffs point towards the Viking's Den.
In the end it turns out that the wounded figure seen by Lassiter was Per, who is the outside man in a blackmailing scheme run by Dolores O'Riordan, the head nurse at the Herschel House. Per is confronted by Shawn, Gus, Juliet and Karen inside the bar after they find Ova's body in the freezer. Despite being armed with two guns, Per is incapacitated when he allows Selene, who entered during the stand-off, to get too close and stab him in the eye with her pregnancy test, after which he is swiftly arrested.
