Sandra Panitch (portrayed by Lindsay Sloane) is a fourth-grade teacher and accused of murdering Jackson Hale, the local weatherman. She met him at a bar and, after being pressured by her friends for a one-night stand, let him take her to the studio where he presents the weather. Mortimer Camp then knocked her out cold in the midst of their love-making and she later woke up next to a dead Hale. All the evidence being against her, she is very grateful when Adam Hornstock along with his legal consultants Shawn and Gus manage to exonerate her.
In the original episode, Sandra (portrayed by Jolie Jenkins) is knocked out by receptionist Priscilla Osterman and wakes up with Hale's blood all over her and her fingerprints on the murder weapon. It is mentioned that she had just moved in from Wisconsin and didn't know who Hale was before that night, making Carlton Lassiter question whether she even had a motive in committing her "crime of passion".
