Ray accompanies Henry to the arrest of two car thieves in the introductory flashback of S3E1 "Ghosts". They already know these thieves to be Shawn and Shawn's Girlfriend, who had secretly borrowed Shawn's Girlfriend's Neighbor's Car as a dare. Ray knows they mean no harm and tries to dissuade Henry from being so hard on his son, but to no avail.
