Mindy Howland is a former Bosseigh High classmate of Shawn and Gus's, graduating alongside them as part of the Class of '95. She met Lassiter at the Santa Barbara Bowl during a Ravi Shankar concert and asked him out on a date, which Lassiter agreed to without realizing she would take him to her 13-year class reunion. Once there, he quickly discerns an ulterior motive: she just wants to use him to to get back with her ex-boyfriend Eldon, whom she dated during all four years of high school. In order to make him jealous she proudly introduces Lassiter as a cop, but when it seems to have little effect she tells Lassiter to make a move on Eldon's wife Stephanie, "that painted whore". When he refuses, she hands him her purse and basically abandons him for the rest of the night.
However, Lassiter finds some pills in her purse that were prescribed to someone called Elizabeth Reba Davis. He does some more digging and discovers that Mindy has been filling false prescriptions under fake names since 1996, so he arrests her and brings her to the station, where he tells Shawn, Gus and Juliet that Mindy's "a real schizoid" but that he is having fun and on his best date in a long time.

- According to Gus, Mindy is "the girl who stuffed Bobby Cobetts in his own car trunk when he wouldn't kiss her at the Spring Fling".
- Although Lassiter claims he and Mindy have a "very deep connection", she mistakenly calls him Corey near the start of the date. When she learns he is a detective, she calls him Barnaby Jones in reference to the eponymous 70s TV series. At her drunkest, she calls him "cutie patootie".
- She indignantly calls Gus "button-up" when he politely says she looks nice and she assumes he is flirting with her, and in return Shawn says she's officially won "Bitchiest Banana" (referring to her banana-yellow dress).
