Lucy Merral is the mother of Paula and the sister of Michelle Barker, both inhabitants of Dual Spires. Lucy used to live there too, but 12 years ago she decided to move to Santa Barbara and take a 7-year-old Paula with her. As Michelle and her husband Robert had practically raised Paula because Lucy was so unstable, they were worried for her. Unfortunately, it wasn't long before they began receiving letters from Paula detailing Lucy's meth use and the abuse she suffered at her hands. They knew they had to act and hatched a plan to fake Paula's death. The ruse worked and Paula could move back in with the Barkers. However, in order to convince Paula to move back to Dual Spires Robert had to reveal to her that he was actually her father and that she was the result of an affair he had had with Lucy.
