Logan Phelps (portrayed by Ralph Macchio) is the prosecutor accusing Sandra Panitch of murdering Jackson Hale. He's the one calling Woodrow Strode to the witness stand for him to confirm Priscilla Morgenstern's alibi and also the one presenting judge Horace Leland with the video tape that is supposed to further incriminate Sandra but instead helps save her. He and defense lawyer Adam Hornstock seem to have a healthy rivalry going on between them.
- After Hornstock comments that My Cousin Vinny is a terrific film, Phelps objects, saying "It's okay, decent at best." Ralph Macchio co-starred in My Cousin Vinny as the cousin that Vinny is trying to get cleared of murder charges.
In the original episode, Phelps (portrayed by Scott Mosenson) calls Carlton Lassiter to the stand instead of Strode in order to further incriminate Panitch. However, Shawn had discovered that Phelps had received a letter from Lassiter questioning whether Panitch even had a motive, a memo which he then "forgot" to file. When Lassiter confirms the existence of the letter after cross-examination by Hornstock, the judge calls Phelps to the stand and reprimands him sternly. Other interactions between Phelps and Leland show that the judge never liked Phelps that much to begin with, something that partly owes to his trying to get an unauthenticated tape in at pretrial.
