Lloyd Marr lives in the basement (B4) of 1101 Prospect Gardens and is the building's manager/caretaker. He is not the most personable of people and has strained relationships with some of the building's tenants, including Amy Alleris (who wants a vegetable garden on the roof and keeps nagging him about replacing the awning over the bulding's entrance).

When he finds a dead Mark Waraftig in apartment 536, he calls the SBPD and lets them in. Lassiter eventually decides to take the newly vacant apartment, and his relationship with Lloyd doesn't start off too well either when Lassiter gives him an unwanted tip about the wattage of the building's light bulbs and then touches him unnecessarily. As part of Amy's house-warming gift basket, Lloyd gives Lassiter some coldly practical rat traps.

When Shawn and Gus visit Lloyd because they suspect him of murdering Mark and earlier tenant Raymond Brauer, he claims that apartment 536 has a curse within its walls that causes "sound-minded men" to "begin to unravel" and be "delivered into the mouth of madness". Our duo are sceptical and go back to his room when he isn't there. They discover that Lloyd steals from his tenants and most importantly find a bottle of amyl nitrite, a substance with a psychoactive effect when inhaled which was found inside the deceased Mark and Ray. However, when Shawn subdues a crazed Lassiter after he chases a frightened Gus into the laundry room, the three find a dead Lloyd in the washing machine. He is clearly another victim of the murderer behind Mark and Ray's deaths, who turns out to be Amy. A psychiatrist's bill Lloyd had stolen from her would prove to be an invaluable piece of evidence in her arrest.

Trivia[]

  • His first name is a reference to bartender Lloyd from The Shining, and it also refers to actor Danny Lloyd, who portrayed Danny in that film.
  • The mask that Lloyd holds over his face to scare Shawn and Gus is the same one which Jack Spencer gave Shawn in S3E4 "The Greatest Adventure in the History of Basic Cable".
  • Besides Amy's bill, two more items Lloyd had stolen from the building's tenants are Lassiter's A.S.P.C.A. gift card and Rose-Marie Farrow's hat.
  • When Amy tries to push our duo off the roof and falls onto the awning, it turns out that Lloyd had indeed replaced it.
