Lawyer accompanies his client to the police station as he is about to be booked by Buzz on suspicion of murder. As he half-heartedly tries to defend the suspect in front of the press, Lassiter suddenly shows up and claims that they've got the wrong guy. After explaining the case's discrepancies, he agrees with Buzz's statement that this "would require a frame job of epic proportions" and tells him that this is exactly why he needs to book Lawyer instead. Since Lassiter is being fed his lines by Shawn, his proposed theory is probably correct.
Before he can share solid evidence, however, Shawn and Gus have an unrelated argument and Lassiter humiliates himself by repeating lines concerning burrito-wrapped empinadas. Unfortunately this means that Buzz has nothing to book Lawyer on yet and has no choice but to let him go, and Lassiter later confides in Henry about the guilt he feels knowing that his mess-up allows Lawyer to roam free a bit longer.
