Joshua Ryan Hayden was in fact the first 'iteration' of Shawn Spencer seen on-screen, being the young Shawn in the opening scene of the pilot episode, set in 1986 Santa Barbara. He seems to have had a rather short run as a child actor in front of the camera, with no roles listed on IMDb since 2007.
