"I Know, You Know" is the name of the Psych theme song. It was written by the show creator Steve Franks, and was performed by Franks's band, The Friendly Indians. It is a shortened version (missing two verses) of the song "The Best Man Lies", a track off their 2004 EP Tiny Badness. It is played during the opening credits of every episode, sometimes as just the refrain and sometimes as verse and refrain, and again over the end credits of every episode. It was first played during the end credits of the pilot, while an instrumental version was played during the opening credits. The longest version of the theme song is in "Viagra Falls".

Lyrics[]
Verse 1[]
In between the lines, there's a lot of obscurity.
I'm not inclined to resign to maturity.
If it's all right, then you're all wrong,
But why bounce around to the same damn song?
You'd rather run when you can’t crawl...
Refrain[]
I know, you know, that I'm not telling the truth.
I know, you know, they just don't have any proof.
Embrace the deception, learn how to bend,
Your worst inhibitions tend to psych you out in the end!
Verse 2 (The Best Man Lies verse)[]
In the realm of compliments, there isn't any higher than
A fabricated misdirection fashioned by a liar.
You think you hate all that you love,
Acting so surprised when it fits you like a glove.
Verse 3 (The Best Man Lies verse)[]
You want to find the answers then I offer a solution
Everyone has got a dose of healthy disillusion
If it's a game yeah, they wanna play
You better load the dice cause they'll do it anyway, but...
You'd rather run when you can't crawl...
Refrain[]
I know, you know, that I'm not telling the truth.
I know, you know, they just don't have any proof.
Embrace the deception, learn how to bend,
Your worst inhibitions tend to psych you out in the end.
Coda[]
I know, you know.
I know, you know.
I know, you know.
I know, you know.
