The Herschel House appears in Psych 2: Lassie Come Home as the recovery home in Santa Barbara where Lassiter recuperates from several bullet holes and a stroke he suffered during surgery. It is named after founder and head doctor Emile Herschel.
When Lassiter feels disturbed by several mysterious goings-on, he asks Shawn and Gus to investigate the home and those connected to it. This eventually results in the discovery of a blackmailing scheme that is being run by head nurse Dolores O'Riordan and assisted by Per Asblorn as the outside man. They would feed patients at the home psychotropes so that they would reveal their darkest secrets and thus become vulnerable to blackmail. One such patient is Wilkerson, whose confession led to the death of his business partner Devon Tileback. It is also connected to Lassiter's reason for being at the home, as Tileback wanted to talk to Lassiter to bring the scheme to light. Per thwarted this by shooting Lassiter several times and ensuring that he was put in the Herschel House so that he could find out how much Lassiter still remembered.
