Fred Turk is a man who woke up naked in a field one day, robbed of all his possessions. Lassiter decides to have some fun with Shawn and Gus and asks them to interrogate Fred, who is still naked because he thinks he's been abducted by aliens and doesn't want to compromise any evidence they might have left on his body. Shawn spots lacerations on his left foot and knows he must have been dragged into the field. Fred has a hard time remembering what happened to him because he has a headache, but he does recall a little green man, barbed wire and the smell of lavender.
Shawn manages to locate the field based on the last two clues and is surprised to see the police there. They have just found a second victim, Philip Keiser. Shawn notices that he's tanned, just like Fred. He has no streaks on his buttocks, and Shawn knows that this is evidence of the Insta-Tan process, a process only used by the Yucatan Tanning Salon and Spa. What's more, both Turk and Keiser live within one and half miles of the place. He and Gus go there, and attendant Jeff tells them that Turk and Keiser are both regulars, and that it's always the single guys who keep up with their tans. When Shawn wants to tell the police his theory about a woman targeting single guys at the salon, a third victim has just been found, one who has definitely never seen the inside of a tanning salon. Shawn is disappointed but also notices a smudge on the victim's wrist that is similar to the ones he saw on Turk's and Keiser's wrists. He combines them in his head and figures out they used to be four-leaf clover stamps.
When Shawn and Gus visit Irish pub Shenanigans based on this clue, attendant Marvin explains that those stamps are used to get into the speed-dating events Shenanigans holds in the evenings. The duo visit Fred in his house, a grand place that abounds with cuckoo clocks, to ask him about this. Fred says that he didn't mention he had been speed dating the night before because he is quite embarrassed about it and didn't think it was relevant. Shawn asks him whether anything odd happened to him at the event yesterday, but as he doesn't remember anything of note Shawn knows they need to go there themselves.
The case quickly gains traction from there, and Shawn has all the answers when they attend the event a second time. It turns out that one of the women that always attends the event, Glenda, isn't single at all but in fact married to Marvin, who wears a leprechaun outfit at work and is the little green man Fred saw. Glenda would always ask bank security questions to her speed dates while making it look like regular small talk, and after getting this information she and Marvin would follow the target and rob them of their credit cards. This was made easier by the intoxicating GHB-laced popcorn that Marvin provided the speed daters, which explains why Turk and Keiser both woke up with headaches. Shawn outs the two crooks to the entire crowd, and the pair are swiftly arrested.
