Fitzgerald "Fitz" Gurley is a patient at the UCSB Medical Center, where he is being treated for hepatic encephalopathy and awaiting a donor liver. As a result of his disease, he is bound to a wheelchair.
Fitz is about to receive an Honors Medal as a valued member of the Joba Society, with emcee Greg calling him "one of the kindest, most generous souls we've ever come across", when Shawn barges into the ceremony and, confusing president Klaus Munson for Fitz, proclaims him to be a murderer. This confuses and upsets everyone present, and Shawn only realizes his mistake when Gus draws his attention to the real Fitz. Understandably, Henry and Lassiter are livid about this insult to such a well-respected member of the community.

Trivia[]
- Shawn mentions that Fitz has an arrest record, with Henry later pointing out that this involved a peaceful protest in the 60's.
- According to the transplant list Fitz lives at #109 3400 Sunview Drive, which is not a real address in Santa Barbara.
