David Morrison Wilcroft is the deceased, almost universally lamented, husband of Raylene Wilcroft in "Woman Seeking Dead Husband: Smokers Okay, No Pets". The sadness at David's passing is less to do with his charm, and more the fact that he took the location of a massive haul from a robbery to the grave with him. As his partners are about to get out on parole, his wife hires Shawn and Gus to make spiritual contact and conjure up the money which, she believes, is all that stands between her and rejoining her husband. The boys hold a séance, during which they ascertain David's last known location, and go to retrace his steps. His shoes are, however, currently occupied, since David only faked his death to avoid dealing with the consequences of his criminal deeds. He did bury the loot, but torrential rain washed away all his markers, at which point he decided it would be better to pretend a post-mortem state than to be genuinely dead. When Shawn and Gus go to try and broker a deal with the former partners, they discover that these tough guys too go in fear of the real mastermind behind the crime - Raylene. Having led the 'black widow' to her soon-to-be-redeceased hubby, the dynamic duo race back to the scene to buy time for Lassiter and Juliet to arrive and put the Wilcrofts and their accomplices safely away in prison.
